Rahul Gandhi: Both BSP and SP are 'anti-minorities'

Coming down heavily on parties like Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) for changing their stand on issues of Muslim reservation, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said that it was Congress (I) which initiated the move for reservation for Muslims as it felt that they were not getting adequate opportunities.  He highlighted Sachhar Committee which was appointed by Congress (I)-led UPA government for improving social-economic status of Muslim minority.  "We implemented the Sachhar Commission report which pointed out that minorities are not being able to participate adequately in the development process. Then we initiated the move for reservation which will give you representation in education and jobs. We did it because we feel that we want to connect you," said Rahul Gandhi. Targeting UP chief minister Mayawati and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav over the issue, he said they were in power in the state for a long time but made no such effort.
