Launching a scathing attack against UP Chief Minister for not providing dalits and poor employment under central government sponsored employment scheme Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MNREGA), Congress (I) has said Mayawati has deprived them of their rights under the welfare scheme. Congress (I) has highlighted that it was Mayawati who had said central government sponsored MNREGA scheme for providing employment to dalits and poor people in rural areas would not be useful. But now in view of upcoming elections Mayawati is saying that if she comes to power at the Centre changes would be brought in the MGNREGS to give employment to jobless people all the 365 days in a year. This exposes the hypocrisy Mayawati’s hypocrisy. She is now putting out to the poor the benefits the scheme to get their votes but had let her ministers to steal the MNREGA money meant for the poor, said Congress (I).
