New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader Pranab won the Presidential election and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and many senior Cabinet Ministers congratulated Pranab Mukherjee on his victory.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi reached Mukherjee's residence soon after he was elected as the 13th President of India. Prime Minister Singh along with his wife Gursharan Kaur, also visited Pranab to greet the 76-year-old President-elect.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, Union Ministers A K Antony, P Chidambaram, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Kamal Nath, Anand Sharma, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Subodh Kant Sahai, Farooq Abdullah and Ministers of State Jyotiraditya Scindia and V Narayanasamy also reached Mukherjee's residence congratulate him.
