Sonia Gandhi unhappy for poor attendance of Congress MPs


Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi expressed her displeasure over the poor attendance of Congress MPs in the Parliament. Sonia Gandhi also said to be not happy for the fact that some Congress MPs sign the Parliament register and leave the House without attending the proceedings.
Expressing her concern that the Members of Parliament of the Congress are not present sometimes despite whips, Sonia Gandhi, who is also Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson, wanted state conveners and parliamentary managers to take steps to ensure better attendance.
According to the Congress sources, Sonia Gandhi also had said that some Congress MPs come and sign the attendance register and go back without attending the House for any considerable time. The Congress President also has sought a list of absentee MPs at regular intervals.
Sonia Gandhi has time and again expressed concern over the absence of members. The Congress President also wanted the monsoon session convened after the presidential election which is expected by the middle of July.
