Rahul speaks for poor farmers of UP, how they are deprived of the benefits

With anger in his words, the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi spoke for the famers of Uttar Pradesh while addressing a big gathering in Dumariyagunj on fourth day of his UP tour.
The Congress leader spoke for the farmers. He told how thousands of crores of money sent under special packages for them have been misused. He also talked about the state government’s insensitiveness in Bhatta-Parsaul fiasco.
“We sent 6,000 crore rupees to wave the farmers’ debt. The whole of India was benefited, the farmers in UP said, they are not benefited,” said Rahul. The Congress MP from Amethi also said, “From Gorakhpur to Noida 1000 km long, 2km wide strip of land is being snatched from the farmers. When they asked for the right amount against their land, they were shot dead in Bhatta-Parsaul. Who went to see? I went.”
The young Gandhi told how the state government was insensitive in handling Bhatta-Parsaul agitation. He said the officials there called those farmers fighting for the right amount of their land Naxals.
“When the government was asked, they said they were Naxals. We did '‘Padyatra’'. We fought and placed bill before the standing committee in Parliament. In closed doors the opposition is trying to stop the Bill. They cannot say it in the open. They can’t do it in the open,” said Rahul.
Describing how the ruling BSP government has been indulging in insensitive behaviour to the people of UP, the Youth Congress icon has put forward the grievances of famers in the heartland state of India.
