Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has assured that a special drought relief package sanctioned for Bundelkhand region earlier would soon reach its addressees – the people of Bundelkhand. Recently a delegation of people from Bundelkhand met him in New Delhi and explained the problems associated with lack of development in the region. While talking to the visitors Rahul Gandhi said that it was unfortunate that the money sanctioned for the welfare of the people did not reach the people for whom it was meant. The visitors explained their grievances and narrated their harrowing woes of neglect by Mayawati government. The visitors said Mayawati government is showing in papers of having undertaken development activities but on ground nothing substantial has been done. The visitors said deep bore tube-wells have been dug but there is no water in them. Congress (I) General Secretary assured the visitors that whatever action is required it will be take from New Delhi without delay.
