Mayawati’s Ghungli Sugar Mill Scam: Congress (I)

Congress (I) has been highlight the scams of Mayawati government as a result of which Uttar Pradesh has suffered losses in thousands of crores in each case. Mayawati has no vision, no agenda for development of the state.  Instead of creating assets for the state she has been selling the existing assets to private parties at much below nominal price.  As a result while Mayawati has been making personal gain, the state has suffered huge losses. For instance Ghungli Surgar Mill was spread over an area of 41 acres. The cost of this land only was more than Rs 100 crores. Non-transparent and surreptitious means were adopted for disposing it of to the interested parties. Open formalities were not conducted to ensure competition to fetch maximum price. There is no explanation as to why the sale was not conducted in transparent manner.  Ultimately S.R. Buildcon Private Limited purchased the sugar mill just for Rs 3.71 crores, said Congress (I).
