Congress (I) has lashed out at Mayawati for playing fast on the people of Uttar Pradesh by employing economics of development which worked as boon for her but ruined the life of people of the state. Congress (I) has sent developmental schemes to UP along with complete funds. But that money has not reached the needy poor and disappeared in the pockets of corrupt officials and ministers. Where did the huge funds for National Rural Health Mission vanish which were meant to improve rural health care services? What happened to Mahatma Gandhi NREGA funds which guaranteed minimum 100 days employment to poor? What happened to special page of Rs 8,000 crores for development of Bundelkhand? Congress (I) said these funds were siphoned off by Mayawati’s corrupt ministers in conspiracy with contractors. People for whom these funds were meant got nothing while the occasion worked as boon for Mayawati to amass wealth for herself.
