Sonia Gandhi blames Akali Government for the pathetic living conditions in Punjab

Congress President Sonia Gandhi lashed out at Akali-BJP Government in Punjab for the lack of basic amenities, poor condition of roads, falling educational standards and bad health facilities in Government hospitals.  UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi said, “Sarkari haspatal to Bhagwan Bharose hai Punjab mein”.
Sonia Gandhi expressed her concern for the increasing atrocities against women in Punjab.  The Congress President also argued that the farmers had to throw their potatoes on the roads.  Sonia Gandhi also asserted that the Punjab Government is so steeped in debt and as a result it was not able to pay salaries to its employees.
“This government has done nothing for the poor. The fraud in the name of Atta-Dal scheme is for everybody to see” said Sonia Gandhi.  “Another glaring example is the misuse of Rs. 5000 crores  the Centre  gave to Punjab under the Mahatma Gandhi rozgaar scheme,”   the Congress President said. “I ask the present Government in Punjab, why the people under the poverty line had increased many-fold during the last five years?” said Sonia Gandhi.
